Hi, Marvin- thanks for sharing this song with us.  Sad song, but it feels good, if you know what I mean.  Good melodic work.  Solid song.  I hope writing it has helped you let go of somethings you were never meant to carry.

I do know what you mean Brent, and it has indeed helped me to let go. My son has been cancer free for a few years now, but still deals with the side effects, and of course death of a loved one is not something you get over, you just get through it. Thanks for your comments pal!

Love the raw honesty here. Very well-done. I appreciate that the sound is fresh but the lyrics have a lot of depth. Great balance.

You are an awesome songwriter, Marvin!  And, thanks to you, I’ve become a Frettie!  Your songs evoke a lot of feeling; stuff you’d have to live to express the way you do.  Thanks for sharing!!

Really liked the lyrics, but the music seemed somehow a little too “pedestrian” for this set of very solid lyrics (hope that made sense).

From zero to a problem don't take long
Sometimes there's no stoppin' what goes wrong
We're told what don't kill you makes you strong
But that's a point of view I'm still workin' on

Lettin' go - is the hardest thing I know
Open up that window that looks right into my soul
And lettin' go

It was a normal Tuesday when my father died
A peaceful Sunday when my buddy lost his wife
An average Wednesday when I learned my son had cancer to fight
Now they're days that I'll remember my whole life

Lettin' go - lettin' all the feelin's show
Lets my heart release the guilt, the grief and forgiveness that I hold
By lettin' go

When a cold hard truth first drives me to my knees
I don't know who to curse or to believe
So until I'm back again on solid ground
Some days I will swim but some I'll drown

Lettin' go - is the hardest thing I know
Open up that window that looks right into my soul
And lettin' go - lettin' all the feelin's show
Let my heart release the guilt, the grief
The anger that spills out of me
To accept the way things cannot be
Means forgivin' myself for - lettin' go

From zero to a problem don't take long
The only way that I'll move on - is lettin' go
