About This Song

Written between breakfast & lunch as a songwriting exercise to see how it worked to start with one short chord & melody idea. 1st - 4 minute cut of the idea, 2nd - no-rules melody variations search, 3rd - expand on a lyric idea. Fun process.

Feedback Requested

We released an album in November (thank you, Frettie, for help vetting those songs). It's time to workshop the next. All comments are welcome. Write a variation if you have a great idea. We'll work out the percentage when we register the final work.

It’s You I Miss ...

Written by Matt Rees

Up before dawn, staring in the mirror. Dim light of a hotel room. Far away from home. Been away too long. Longing to see you soon.

Last time we were alone, it didn't go too well. Guess I'm selfish in an odd way. That time is gone. I can finally tell. You help to navigate my way.

I know I can be cruel. I know I can be wrong. Even be childish if I don't get my way. But I give you my heart. I give you my love. I give you all of my world and all that's in me.

It's you I miss.

The highway turns to the old back roads of our hometown. I hear the radio's song about the lonely road you begged me not to go down.

For you and only your attention. For you and only your affection. For you and all of your wild, outrageous dreams. For you and all of the trust you've placed in me. For you I will be true. For you I will be strong. I give you my life and all of my dreams.
