Boy, Jayne, there’s a lot of good stuff here.  I like the vibe and the idea.  Feels really good- commercial.  The only thing I’d add to it would be some more specifics if you can get ‘em.  Show me the moment a drunk pours the bottle down the drain, the moment a man pulls a ring from his pocket.  The first “I love you.”  The first honest-to-God prayer.

There’s so much power in the idea… but I want to be right in the middle of those moments.  And then maybe sneak in the moral of the story or a “why are you telling me this?” into the song.

Overall, really good.  You got some good stuff!

Thank you Brent!  LOVE your suggestions.  That is indeed what is missing.  We had a lot of traction on this song but nothing happened with it.  Garth considered it twice according to my co-writer’s publisher.  I think you are exactly right!  It needs to be more intimate with detail so the listener can “Feel” those moments and relate them back to his/her own life.  I totally agree!  Thank you so much for listening!

A Moment Doesn’t Matter

A Moment Doesn't Matter
Victoria Banks, Jayne Sachs, Brett Mandell

60 of em make up a minute
And you never know what might happen in it
But we throw away em like grains of sand
And we let too many slip through our hands

We drive to work and we pay the bills
Like it's one more turn on an endless wheel
The clock only gives us so many a day
But we spend em like they're ours to waste

CH:
They're choices, they're chances, they're first and last dances
They're words left unspoken, they're doors never opened
They're hard goodbyes and happy ever afters
Don't tell me a moment doesn't matter

Turning left when you could’ve gone right
Phone call you get in the middle of the night
A new beginning or beginning of the end
It's up to you what you do with them

CH

Bridge:
A moment of weakness, a moment of strength
A moment too soon or a moment too late
To let your heart fly, or to let your heart break
Sometimes a moment is all that it takes

They're choices, they're chances, they're first and last dances
They're words left unspoken, they're doors never opened
They're hard goodbyes and happy ever afters
When all the ashes are scattered
Don't tell me a moment doesn't matter

Don't tell me a moment doesn't matter
