About This Song

It's about the nature of God and his love for us. I usually write bible study songs: I do a bunch of study and reflect on it through my writing. This is the first time I've done a looping guitar part. Played the verse/chorus once and looped the rest.

I tried to communicate some pretty heavy things like the Trinity and I'm just wondering if the lyrics need to be reworked for clarity. Also I'm not set on a structure yet.

It’s really hard to write a Christian song that stands out because of the similarities lyrically amongst them. It really helps to pick something really specific to communicate. You suggested the Trinity… perhaps write all your lyrics relating to the Trinity specifically. There’s certainly plenty to write about that single facet. Trying to write about God or his love in general is just a huge area to cover, and it can make the song lose memorability.

That being said, I enjoyed the song, you have a nice voice, and especially the chorus had a nice melody. Keep it up.

I love the emo feel of the song. The sound is very relatable. I have to admit the title is what interested me to listen to it. I do have a hard time finding the lyrics a bit relatable maybe simplify them a bit. I also had a hard time finding something that centered the song but I thought it was beautiful and lovely to listen to.

A God Named Desire

Written by Andrew Carroll

I am named Desire, a consuming fire
more radiant than, than the sun
burning bright - infinite candle light
I shine for all to behold, behold my perfect love

I am love - my law, my throne written
upon sapphire stone, stone in the sky
to withstand my passion like the - Son you must be fashioned,
otherwise your shot, your shot is always shy

Do you love me
why do you fear Everything else will just disappear
Yes I Love you, some choose to fear
Only the saints survive when I draw near

I am from before time, unselfishly sublime
Jehovah my family designation
Eternal Simultaneity, always giving sacrificially
I have loved even before all of creation

Do you love me?
why do you fear, everything else will just disappear
Yes I love you - some choose to fear
Only the saints survive when I draw near

Do you love me?
why do you fear, sorrow and tears will disappear
Yes I love you - some choose to fear
Only the saints survive when I draw near
