About This Song

I wrote this song driving south through South Carolina’s Low country headed down to Savannah Georgia. It’s a feel good coming home type song that takes visuals from and around the area of the country referred as the low country.

Hey Charlie, Thank you for posting your song. It’s a solid, well crafted and produced Country song. I love the chorus melody - nice! The lyric is a bit generic and may be not original enough to compete in the market. But nevertheless it’s a nice song! Keep on!

Lovin it bro.  I kinda see what Frank means but then again, i hate this idea that your song has to be new and fresh and original.  There is no such thing.  You simply cannot write something we havent heard before. I like it man smile

Low Country Backroad

Written by Charlie Miller

Southern pine growin in red clay, the cottons’ gettin high

My hometown pass the Carolinas, south of the Georgia line

Everybody’s waitin on me, can’t wait to see their smiles

I know I’ve been gone for far too long

Chorus

Low country back road, carry me south and take me home

Back to the place where sawgrass grows, Mama’s cookin and sweet tea flows

Swampy water black as coal, Southern Comfort warm my soul

The radio’s playin Georgia’s on my mind, on this low country back road

Verse 2

Can’t wait to see the sunrise in morning when I rise and shine

Blue skies in the Georgia morning I can almost smell the pine

Mamas’ goin to say hey sweet boy, please plan to move back home

You know that you’ve been gone for far to long

Repeat Chorus

Bridge

Just a few more miles to go, I’ll finally be back home

Repeat chorus

Take me home,

sweet Georgia’s on my mind

Low country backroad

Mama I’m coming home for good

On this this low country backroad
