Just took a listen and I really like the dusty back road arrangement of the music. I like what you are doing with chorus as well. I would suggest changing the word “it” in your chorus to “she”. That way you are making love a person throughout the hook and there would be a twist when you reveal you are talking about love and not an actual person. Keep up the great production and work!

Also, from a production standpoint, consider adding some stereo delay to your chorus. It could also be cool to make a copy of your chorus vocal, roll off the bottom and run it through some guitar distortion. That would sound cool!

Man is that you singing?
I love the vocal, I love how you can really hear the closeness of your voice in the mix.
Very Lou Reed meets Steve Earle!
Well done!

When it calls your name

when it starts singing

you can't pretend like

you didn't hear anything
Innocent and sweet

it comes into our life

and you need to take good care of it

so that it grows and thrives

Sometimes it cries

Sometimes it smiles and shines

Sometimes it's running wild

Love is like a child

She took my freedom away

when she knocked on my door

but she made me feel something

I've never felt before
One day she ran away

I know I did her wrong

and I hit rock bottom

it hurt so bad when she was gone

Sometimes it cries

Sometimes it smiles and shines

Sometimes it's running wild

Love is like a child

Keep it warm when it get's cold
with all your heart and soul
keep it safe at any cost
cause if you lose it, you're lost.

Sometimes it cries

Sometimes it smiles and shines

Sometimes it's running wild

Love is like a child

Sometimes it cries

Sometimes it smiles and shines

Sometimes it's running wild

Love is like a child
