Feedback Requested

Yet another work in progress. I still have some issues to iron out here, but it would be interesting to see if there is any consensus. And of course, mention of the inevitable things I haven't picked up on yet. Any and all feedback would be much appreciated, indeed. Thank you!

Bob, I like this!  Good message in this song.  The world would be a better place if everyone understood this.

I Count My Blessings

Written by Bob McPherson

I Count My Blessings

I’ve been down and out before,
The wolves howling at my door,
I’ve been hungry, cold, and wet,
I’ve been in pain.

I’ve been as hopeless as can be,
A friend to strife and misery,
Dark and cold and all alone,
Lost on the road so far from home.

Chorus
But I count my blessings every day,
I’ve had so many come my way,
Through the good times and the bad,
Just happy to be.

But for the grace of God go I,
Just one very lucky guy,
I count my blessings and walk through
this world gratefully.

Bridge

Here I stand in the land of rich and plenty,
Here I stand in the land of opportunity,
Here I stand so strong and free,
With the sun shining down on me,
So lucky to have,
So lucky to live,
So lucky to be.

When I watch the news at night,
I see a world that just ain’t right,
Too much hunger,
Too much sorrow,
Too much pain.

How low can one man go,
Don’t ask me, ‘cause I don’t know,
There’s a world of hurt out there,
That’s never touched me.

So I count my blessings every day,
I’ve had so many come my way,
Through the good times and the bad,
Just happy to be.

But for the grace of God go I,
Just one very lucky guy,
I count my blessings and walk through this world gratefully,
I count my blessings and walk through this world gratefully,
I count my blessings and walk through this world gratefully.
