About This Song

The singer is just a working man who knows who he is and what's important to get the job done and live a good life.

Would love to hear what you think and what artist (s) to pitch this song to. I have made some lyric changes that are not in the song demo so check those out in verse 3 on the lyric sheet and let me know what you think.

You got to the point in the song… and you got to the point in life.  A simple, solid story.

I like the feel of this song, it has that bluesy rocking Country feel! The lyrics are simple and direct. The vocalist did a great job! I personally would have loved to hear a vocal lift in the Bridge to really turn things up a notch by adding more conviction to really match that he has the heart and the hunger, but thats just my preference of course. All things aside, great tune, I enjoyed it and found it very relatable! Very cool!

Well crafted song…nice singable melody.

Nothing wrong with this here.

As for pitches…what about Ronnie Dunn?

Stephen glad you like it!  I really appreciate you taking the time to listen.  I’ll take another look at the bridge melody, thanks!

Tony thanks for the suggestion of Ronnie Dunn.  I’d be very happy indeed if he’d sing this, one can only try!

JUST A WORKIN’ MAN

Written by Ariel Moore

Verse 1:
WELL MY FRIENDS KNOW I’M JUST A WORKIN MAN
I AIN’T NO HERO JUST DOIN WHAT I CAN
I’M KISSING MY WIFE GETTIN OUT OF BED
I’M UP WITH THE SUN FOR THE DAY AHEAD
TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR
WHAT DO I SEE
JUST A WORKIN MAN
LOOKING BACK AT ME

Verse 2:
BEFORE I WAS OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE A TRUCK
MY DADDY SAID SON YOU MAKE YOUR OWN LUCK
IF YOU WANT HER TRUST BE AN HONEST MAN
AND KEEP YOUR PROMISES THE BEST YOU CAN
TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR
WHAT DO I SEE
JUST A WORKIN MAN
LOOKING BACK AT ME
THAT’S WHAT I SEE

Bridge:
WELL I KNOW IDLE HANDS DO A MAN NO GOOD
I GOTTA WORK HARD LIKE A GOOD MAN SHOULD
I GOT THE HEART AND I GOT THE HUNGER
AND I KNOW DARN WELL I AIN’T GETTING ANY YOUNGER

Verse 3 line changes within
I CAN DIG DITCHES AND POUR CEMENT
BUT I DON’T WANT TO WORK JUST TO PAY THE RENT
I’M SAVING SOME MONEY FOR A RAINY DAY
I WORK HARD SO I DON’T HAVE THE DEVIL TO PAY
TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR
WHAT DO I SEE
JUST A WORKIN MAN
LOOKIN BACK AT ME
