Thanks so much Russ and Monte…so glad you enjoy this song. I’ve never tried any harmony in the choruses but will now. Much appreciated. George

Hi George, the song has a nice vintage feel. I love the baritone guitar. I think the lyric could use some more images, it’s pretty straightforward and stays at the surface, it doesn’t really touch me.

I like the lyrics and music in this song. I see you are in Lodi…..I am close by, in Lathrop. I am a lyricist, maybe we could meet up and see if cowriting is an option?

Thank you so much Shannon, but I work with my wife on my songs (she helps me talk-through my ideas before I get too far into my lyrics). Best of luck in your writing.

Hold On To Me
© George K. Gibson

1.
I know you worry what your future may hold –
and all the hell you’ll go through.
In the days ahead I want you to know –
I’ll always be here for you.

CHORUS
So hold on - hold on,
hold on to me, baby.
Hold on - hold on,
hold on to me, baby.

2.
Please take my hand, babe, and I want you to know -
that you’ll be mine forever.
I made a promise to you (long time ago) -
that I won’t leave you - ever.

CHORUS
So hold on - hold on,
hold on to me, baby.
Hold on - hold on,
hold on to me, baby.

REFRAIN
Nothing’s harder than to fear the unknown –
these days can pass so slowly.
But deep inside me is a heart that you own –
you’re my one - you’re my one - you’re my one and only.

3.
When hope has faded - and nothing’s gone right -
and your body’s aching.
Just remember my unwavering love -
I’ll always be here waiting.

CHORUS
So hold on - hold on,
Hold on to me, baby.
Hold on - hold on,
Hold on to me, baby.
Yes, hold on - hold on,
Hold on to me, baby.
Hold on - hold on,
Hold on to me, baby.
