Idea: Have you ever seen a place so beautiful, you thought to yourself "Bury Me Here"? Country ballad that takes you to church - that was my goal anyway! Produced by Pearl Snap Studios, Nashville. Vocal by Doug Moore.
Nice sounding song, Alexsi. And cool idea- I like how “Bury Me Here” turns out so positive.
However, the 1st verse doesn’t kill me (no pun intended). It didn’t set me up emotionally for that chorus.
I wonder if this might work well as a love song. You and your love are in this beautiful place, and he says how he never wants to leave because it’s so perfect there with her. Let’s just stay forever, then bury me here.
Could be pretty cool.

Frank and Brent, thank you so much for your feedback!
When I wrote the beginnings of this song (back in 2015!), it was more of a love song…a conversation between a couple vs. the version I posted which is a man’s conversation with God.
The original “couple” version was:

We find a secret spot, water’s edge, bank of sand
I want to be together, as many sunsets we can
When God calls me home, my answer, my plan
Pre-Chorus
Ashes to ashes, rest me riverside
Between this weeping willow and whispering pine

Bury me here, bury me here…
Anyway, it’s funny how songs evolve - maybe Brent, if I take the song back to that “couple” place and make it more of a love song, the song would greater commercial appeal. After all, the song is more about living than dying, with a positive message about the power of faith for when your time is up…On that note, let’s keep truckin’! Thanks again!

Okay, just read the feedback from the others and your original lyrics that are about a couple that is enjoying the moment. For me, the song could work either way. It’s just beautiful. Can there be two different versions of the same song? Anyway, I just really enjoy this song.
