About This Song

Pop country co-write with Elysse Yulo (production) and Brian Palay (vocals and guitars). Going for a fun Rascal Flatts or Dan/Shay vibe.

Hi Chad, I love the groove and the catchy chorus!
Had some problems to get into the song, the opening lines are a bit confusing.

I tend to agree with Frank. Seems to not fit the hook. as it’s negative about leaving? Nice tune!

You Started It

Written by Chad Sellers

Verse 1
My heart, and the keys to my car
Taking me for a ride, hope you’re not leaving
Scars, taking over everything like you own it,
Yeah you know it

My bed, all the thoughts in my head
You’re moving in, I’m diving in to the deep end,
been this way since I met you girl day one
Single look, and I was gone

CHORUS
‘Cause youuuuuu started it
When youuuuuu first round knocked me out
Gloves off, when you walked in
Threw the first kiss, yeah I know I played my part in it
But youuuuuu, you started it

Verse 2
My dreams, baby just you and me
Going down this road, seeing where it leads us
Two, didn’t see you coming but girl it’s something
What we’re becoming

Brand new, this thing we’re feeling
It’s getting real and
I’m all in on you
Don’t know what you got yourself into

CHORUS

BRIDGE: ‘Cause you started it, when you first round knocked me out

CHORUS/END
