About This Song

I wrote this song together with Michael Lapchon, who is responsible for most parts of the lyric. This is an older one and a home made demo, I've played and mixed everything by myself. Only the vocals have been recorded later in Nashville. The singer is Kristina Wrenn, she's also a performing artist and has launched a nice EP.

EMPTY HOME

WELL I’VE KNOWN YOU FOREVER
YOUR LOVE OF COUNTRY RUNS SO DEEP
WASN’T LOOKING FOR A SOLDIER
BUT I FOUND ONE I COULD KEEP

WHEN DUTY CALLED YOU WERE PREPARED
THERE WAS NO WAY TO MAKE YOU STAY
THE RISK TO YOU JUST MADE ME SCARED
BUT I KNEW YOU HAD TO GO AWAY

CHORUS: NO ONE MISSES LIKE I MISS YOU
I DON’T FEEL SAFE SLEEPING ALONE
NO ONE HURTS AS MUCH AS I DO
LEFT BEHIND IN AN EMPTY HOME

A FAMILY WAS IN DANGER
THERE WAS A WOMAN ON YOUR ARM
YOU PROMISED TO PROTECT HER
AND KEEP THEM SAFE FROM HARM

YOU NEVER BROKE YOUR PROMISE
YOU KEPT THEM ALL ALIVE
HOW COULD ANYONE HAVE KNOWN
THAT YOU WOULD NOT SURVIVE?

CHORUS: NO ONE MISSES LIKE I MISS YOU
AND I FIND MYSELF ALL ALONE
NO ONE HURTS AS MUCH AS I DO
LEFT BEHIND IN AN EMPTY HOME

HOPE WE’LL BE TOGETHER
IN HEAVEN SOME FINE DAY
TO SAY I LOVE YOU FOREVER
‘CAUSE I CAN’T LET YOU GO THIS WAY

CHORUS: NO ONE MISSES LIKE I MISS YOU
AND I FIND MYSELF ALL ALONE
NO ONE HURTS AS MUCH AS I DO
LEFT BEHIND IN AN EMPTY HOM
