About This Song

This is a new draft - second Version - of the song. I have posted my first version a week ago. It's a little bit more produced, so I can better see which direction it could go. Vocal range is a bit too wide for me.

Feedback Requested

Appreciate any feedback. This song is not finished.

Wow, great song Frank! Your production quality sounds great, and I love the vocals and the great guitar tracks which become a musical hook for me. It’s all performed and recorded by you? If so, you have amazing talent and skills. Awesome job!

Thank you Reid, glad you like it. I played and recorded it by myself (okay the drums are played by Apple).
I don’t like my singing, it’s terrible.

Your vocals sound great, and you have a unique voice.

I’m assuming you mean “Kyle” or one of the other virtual drummers, in Logic Pro, laid down a decent drum track for you?

I love LPX, for that reason, because programming drums used to burn up so much of my time, because I was not good at it.

Your drum tracks sound great!

It’s all EZ Drummer?

Great job!

Best

Chorus melody is great Frank…the lift makes it memorable and certainly notable as the chorus.  “There was a strange note in your call”...perhaps you mean “tone” ?  This song is soooo much stronger Frank…always great to hear a rewrite with marked improvements…very well done indeed!

Reid - yep - I love the drummer in Logic X - it’s quite easy to get a good result if you know how it works, it is really useful.

Dori - thank you for your comment. I thought ‘note’ is okay here, but now I’m not sure. I had googled a bit and it was used in this context. English is not my mother tongue, so for me it’s not easy to judge. Could also be that it is more used in British English in this way? I don’t know and will have to find out.

Another nice song Frank. To me it sounds more pop than country. The tone and phrasing makes me think of Paul McCartney. You’re really talented!

Thank you Tre - I guess
the Country feel will come with the demo. I’m not a Country singer and I don’t pretend to be one. The song is not finished yet, there will be some changes.

Last Flight Home

Written by Frank Renfordt

Dancing snowflakes in the headlights
drained eyes barely find the lane
another crazy week behind me
running late to get that plane

I promised to be back for Christmas
when we did our routine call
there was a strange note in your voice
I wonder if you care at all

I have the feeling something shady 's going on
I kept you waiting way too long

I've tried
to make it right
but in the end
I look a sight
you sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
this last flight home

I spent a fortune at the airport
to bring a Louis Vuitton bag
don't think this will save me honey
cause your love has no price tag

With trembling knees I'm running to the gate
baby please don't tell me it's too late

I've tried
to make it right
but in the end
I look a sight
you sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
this last flight home

I'm sweating like crazy in my winter-coat
it feels like my heart is in my throat

but I'll try
to make it right
I won't give up
without a fight
you sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
this last flight home
you sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
this last flight home
