Potentially a Pop/Country hybrid? This one REALLY needs a female vocal. Attempts to capture the women's perspective re: moving on after a relationship ends. I'm especially fond of the "lifetime of tomorrows" hook.
All constructive feedback appreciated. And if a female wants to add the pipes, I'm all for it!

That Was Then This Is Now

Verse 1
Then there was a time
I counted you as a blessing from above
Then I put my trust in you
To teach me how to love
Then my world fell down around me
When you walked out that door
Then I picked up all the pieces
And discovered so much more
CHORUS
That was then this is now
Now I have a lifetime of tomorrows
And you’re just a part of yesterday
I had to learn to walk, learn to run
Spread my wings and fly away
Then I was the girl who was trying to find her way
Now you wish you knew the woman who I’ve become today
That was then this is now
Verse 2
Now I saw you out in Vegas with
Your new ex-cheerleader wife
You couldn’t look me in the eye
You didn’t ask about my life
Now, I just had to smile
as I turned to walk away
That was another time another place
Now all that I can say is…
CHORUS
Bridge
Funny in the end things have a way of working out
Yes, it happens for a reason, baby, I don’t have a doubt
CHORUS
