Hi Chad,
nice details which makes the lyric sounding authentic. I got a bit bored while listening to the chorus. I don’t know exactly why. Maybe the melody is not that strong,  maybe I was missing something unexpected or maybe it’s only my personal feeling. I guess this song idea is so generic that you have to deliver something very strong and original to keep your listener excited. Please take this comment as my personal opinion which maybe wrong and keep on!

Lyrically, the song is good. Calls to mind Luke Bryan’s “Light It Up.” Melodically, I don’t hear a distinction between the chorus and the verses. The music doesn’t make the chorus pop, in my opinion.

Love, love, love the chorus, Chad. Sometimes it’s not so much how the lyrics read on paper, but how they sing, and how they sound. If you sing it right, you can make the a, b, c’s sound cool, lol. The only thing I would suggest is maybe speed up the tempo just a tad, to maybe around 80 or 85 bpm or so,but other than that, I like it. I’ll give it another read/listen.

Hold the Phone

Written by Chad Sellers

Hold The Phone
By Elysse Yulo, Dan Harrison, Chad Sellers

V1 (G Cadd9 Em D, Tuned down half-step)
Are you reading your book, with Jimmy Fallon on
Got a glass of white wine on your nightstand that’s almost gone
Did you let yourself think for a second that it was how it used to be
Lying next to you, it could still be true, just light me up cause I want it too

CHORUS (Cadd9, G, Em, D)
Baby hold the phone, make mine ring
Jump back in, we’ll fix everything
Ain’t been that long, we’re still right
baby dial me up, say anything tonight
Cause god knows, I’m so alone (we’re both alone--last chorus?)
Say you’re giving up on letting go
Say you ain’t sure, you don’t know
Say the word...and I’ll hold the phone
(ooh ooh ooh, Hold the phone)

V2
Most days I can fool myself into not thinking bout you
But then I see your favorite band’s coming to town and I want to ask should I get tickets for two
Would you even pick up if I called, and if you did would it be you at all
I can’t take that chance, got it in my hands, but I’m waiting on you to make it ring again

CHORUS

BRIDGE (Am7, G/B, C9, D)
I just need to hear from you
Oooooo oooooo

CHORUS
