A Celtic like tune about a sailor who lost his one and only love and resigns himself to roam the seas alone.
As always I welcome feedback on this tune and all others I have on Frettie.

Verse 1
I've lost the one I love there's nothing left for me
So it's to the sea I go for eternity
She chose to wed another and will never be my bride
I set out to sail on a brisk and sunny day
With the wind at my back the sea she did spray
Unknown where I was bound I let the sea be guide
Chorus
Destined to be alone till I'm in my grave
Cause I am a lost soul on the wind and waves
Solo 1
Verse 2
We met one summer's day in Bangor County Down
One look at her I knew true love had been found
But I was sailor and the sea called to me
She promised to wait for me until I came home
Our ship was lost at sea, she feared to be alone
When I found she had a new love twas then I set her free
Chorus
Destined to be alone till I'm in my grave
Cause I am a lost soul on the wind and waves
Solo 2
Verse 3
When I'm old and tired and it's time for me to go
Forever I will travel on the wind that blows
Lay me to rest on my ship adrift upon the sea
Chorus
Destined to be alone till I’m in my grave
Cause I am a lost soul on the wind and waves
Destined to be alone till I’m in my grave
Cause I am a lost soul on the wind and waves

This song does what it’s supposed to do. There is a good marriage between lyric and music. However, I’d like to make a suggestion. Switch the verses and make verse 1 your second verse and verse 2 your first verse. This way, the listener is clear about what’s going on from beginning to end.
