HOT WOMEN, WHISKEY AND BEER (written by Jack Speer, sung by Matt Dame, produced by John D. Willis):
When my folks moved to Central, FL, 1956, my folks initially rented a large, 2-story wood-frame house. Early after moving there, a man appeared at our front screen door, with a fairly rank odor of alcohol. My mother shooed him away, but I later learned this man was my grandmother’s brother. And, on occasion, if I did something that was deemed despicable to my mother, she would say, “You’re going to be just like your Uncle.” I thought he deserved a song. I later learned he had been a war hero on an island in the Pacific, during WWII.
Hi Jack,
what a cool production - sounds really great!
The hook is very much cliche, but the way you tell your story is quiet original. Good work!

The first time I met him,
He left a bad impression,
He was standin’ outside our screen door.
There was a most distinctive smell
And then, I heard Mama yell,
“Don’t you come ‘round here, no more.”
Well, aside from being my unc,
He was the town drunk
And mama’s family disgrace.
Mama made it quite clear,
As she got all up in my ear,
“You’re gonna be just like him,
If you don’t change your ways.”
When I leave here,
The only thing I fear,
Whether I wind up in heaven,
Or the other direction,
Will there be hot women, whiskey and beer?
I don’t understand genetics,
But, Lord knows I’ve got my critics
And some say I’m headed down that same old track.
Well, I guess that might be true,
‘Cause I love women too,
And my best friends, Bud and Jack.
When I leave here,
The only thing I fear,
Whether I wind up in heaven,
Or the other direction,
Will there be hot women, whiskey and beer?
I know one thing, if I know nothin’ else,
There’s more like me, so I won’t be, all by myself.
When I leave here,
The only thing I fear,
Whether I wind up in heaven,
Or the other direction,
Will there be hot women, whiskey and beer?
Yeah, if ever I wind up in heaven,
Or the other direction,
Will there be hot women, whiskey and beer?
