Daniel,

I really like this song.  Nice work.  Did you do the recording yourself?  What settings did you use for your reverb

Hi Daniel, I like the feel of the song but I had some difficulties to follow the structure. I expected a chorus all the time and I thought the part after the first two verses would be kind of a chorus, but you didn’t repeat this part after the next verse again. Consider to shorten the verses and implement a chorus instead, some repetitive parts would make the song more memorable. Nice vocals, guitar playing and sound!

Steve,

Thanks so much! I actually recorded it at a studio in NYC called The Cutting Room, which I highly recommend. The producer I worked with would know the exact reverb/other technical settings, but as far as I know it was just some light reverb, and it was done in a single take with two mics (I don’t know the models), one on the guitar and one for vocals. There’s been no post-production or mastering, this is the original unfiltered track.

Frank,

Thanks so much as well! I can understand how that could happen; I think the part you are referring to is in fact the chorus, but yes the structure is somewhat unique. I’ll post the lyrics soon with how I understood the structure to be. I will keep in mind your advice going forward. I really appreciate it!

Hi Daniel, I like the sound of this and it’s a good idea. The chorus could be stronger though. I also like the idea of the small town hearts making another one at the end. Good work!

P.S. I have a couple cowriters from NY and they are playing a writers round Saturday at 6pm. You should meet them. email me if you want more info about that.
