Written and recorded a long time ago when I was in a band. The song is really just about loving someone warts and all. In this case, someone who has become a shell of their former selves.

There wasn’t an actual Jane. I was single at the time and went out a lot. It was more a conglomeration of women I saw out who were wonderful human beings sober, but didn’t handle being drunk very well. Over time I just saw them as being diminished people and wrote about it.
