is my simple bridge something listeners would love?

Hi Evan, cool title, has made me curious. The first part of the song feels a bit disconnected to the chorus. It would be great if you could find a way to implement the audition/show metaphor already in the first verses, than the lyric would gear more towards the hook. For example you could say that you was looking for the ‘leading actress’ in your life or something like that. I like the chorus. Overall the melody is rather repetitive, consider to build in a bridge with different harmonies. Overall it is a really good idea. Good luck!

Ha, I really like this idea, and I love the wordplay about it all in the chorus! Rather like Frank said, I would love to have the metaphor and some clever wording come in somewhere in verse 1 (but that might just be me, as I do like witty words with multiple meanings ahem).

I like the bridge, for me I could imagine some instrumentation thing going on along with it too if it was a band or full recording that added to the build as that bridge went along (might be instruments, might be harmonies - it builds well, was just thinking it would be awesome with other stuff building it up even more as it went).

Again personally, I didn’t have any feeling of it being repetitive, and I loved the groove to it all smile

More than everything else, the little thing that hangs with me (earworm) after hearing the song 3 times is that pickup (four, 1/16th notes) to the 8th beat in the intro and sometimes in the verses.  It’s like a tease, bc my ear listens for this riff at every 8th beat, but it doesn’t always occur.
I also agree with Tommy Grimes, that a full-blown production of this would make a lot of the repetitiveness go away; however some chord changes in the chorus would help define the chorus and make it stand out a little more.  Overall, a very good song!  Thanks for sharing!!

Everybody says it takes some time to find the one
but you're standing there right in front of me
you've got just what I need, You're not just anyone
you've put an end to all this searching

I've never seen someone move the way you do
can't you tell i'm a little weak at the knees
first sight love ain't a myth, it's just the truth
that kind of thing that can't be broken

Chorus:

You're already in the show
I don't need to see if you're the one for me
cause I already know
you've got the part, you've got my heart
it ain't no mystery
so baby, tell me what you're doing for the rest of your day
or the rest of your life, could you be all mine
I don't need to try you out or give you a listen
you don't need an Audition

Verse:
I don't want to waste our time, so come on in to me
I can tell you've got a way of showin' up the stars
you're the perfect kind of bad
but love so gracefully
we can just skip through all the questions

Bridge:
You don't need no
you don't need no
you don't need no audition (x4)
