About This Song

Co-written with Mitch Collins...it was a very different song when I wrote it 20 years ago. Mitch did some great stuff to bring it to the 21st century smile

Trying to get this to a place where it can have a better demo and a better vocal as I don't feel it's my style at all. Looking to pitch it as a newer country song.

I liked the bridge.  It didn’t seem to go with the song, but for some reason I liked that.

Fools Paradise

Written by Tony True

Verse 1
There’s something in the way you smile at him/her
You say you’re friends but I see more -
You’re begging me to stay cause you love me -
But we’ve been down this road before -

Pre-chorus
Love made be blind but now you gave me sight -
It’s not the first time I caught you in a lie -

Chorus
I’m not going to spend another night in this fool’s paradise
Shame on you for fooling me once
Shame on me for letting you fool me twice
I've grown so tired of hearin' all your alibis
So now I’m done with this fool’s paradise
With you and this fool’s paradise

Verse 2
I kept on hoping things would change -
And you’d fall back in love with me -
I see why hind sight’s twenty-twenty –
And now it feels so good to be free –

Pre-chorus
When you love someone you’ve gotta let them go -
So think of that when you’re sittin’ all alone –

Chorus
Cause I’m not going to spend another night in this fool’s paradise
Shame on you for fooling me once
Shame on me for letting you fool me twice
I've grown so tired of hearin' all your alibis
So now I’m done with this fool’s paradise
With you and this fool’s paradise

Bridge
I Don’t why you keep on calling, I told you I’m not falling
No matter how hard you try, you’ll never get back in my life

Chorus
Cause I’m not going to spend another night in this fool’s paradise
Shame on you for fooling me once
Shame on me for letting you fool me twice
I've grown so tired of hearin' all your alibis
So now I’m done with this fool’s paradise
With you and this fool’s paradise
You and this fool’s paradise
