About This Song

This song was started in the days that followed the massive Orlando night club shooting on June 12, 2016. I first got the idea for the song from a line I heard in Game Of Thrones and thought it would a good start to this song..."When will it be enough, when will it end?". Not sure if it's country or folk but changed it to folk...

Feedback Requested

Unfortunately my co-writer John Wilberforce and I have come to an impasse as to how to proceed with the song...so here is sort of where it lies.

I didn't like some of the lines he had added for the chorus...Cowboys and outlaws...the bad guys?

Holding each other in front of the gun...I personally didn't get this line.

I have a complete set of different lyrics for V2 and the chorus and wrote a bridge - see below for my lyrics.

ANY ideas and or thoughts would be appreciated

Verse 1

When will it be enough, when will it end?

Stop turning the innocent into the condemned

When will we wake up and fight for real change

Stop this madness and passing of blame

Verse 2

How did this happen, what have we done?

When did we become judge and jury of one?

More lives are lost and families will grieve

Stop this madness what will it achieve?

Chorus - Tony

Our world is in crisis, denial and pain

Torn up by hatred cause we’re not all the same

Open up our minds to other points of view

Stop this madness it’s up to me and you

Stop this madness it’s up to me and you

Bridge

An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind

Keep on killing each other till there is no mankind

Does it really matter whose God’s right and whose is wrong

Why is it not more important to just along?

Verse 3

So pick up the pieces, and let down that weight

And teach all our children it’s never too late

To save this worlds future and clean off the slate

To stop this madness, the fear and the hate

Chorus - Tony

Our world is in crisis, denial and pain

Torn up by hatred cause we’re not all the same

Open up our minds to other points of view

Stop this madness it’s up to me and you

Stop this madness it’s up to me and you

When will it be enough, when will it end?
Stop turning the innocent into condemned
When will we wake up and see real change
Stop this madness and passing of blame

When did this happen, what have we done?
We took away toys and we gave out guns
Another life gone and there’s nothing to gain
Stop this madness and passing of blame

[Chorus]
In a world that’s in crisis, in limbo, in pain
Cowboys and outlaws seek glory and fame
By holding each other in front of the gun
I refuse to think the bad guys have won
I don’t wanna think that bad guys have won

So pick up the pieces, and put down that weight
And tell all our children that it’s never too late
to stop all the heartache, the worry and hate
To stop this madness, and passing of blame

[Chorus]
In a world that’s in crisis, in limbo, in pain
Cowboys and outlaws seek glory and fame
By holding each other in front of the gun
I refuse to think the bad guys have won
I don’t wanna think that bad guys have won
