A song about the hard things we all seem to go through in life and how to get past them and not get stuck in them.
Looking for feedback on the overall direction of the song. Any and all comments are appreciated.
Hi, David! Thanks for sharing this with us.
I like the hopeful message of the song, but I’d really like to see some specifics or imagery in the song. There are some nice metaphorical images (spider chains), but I’m really having to fill in all the gaps myself. And that’s asking a lot of the listener in today’s distracted world.
It’s all in my head “yes, I understand intellectually that we all go through trials and tribulation and that when we let love guide us, fear dies.” But I don’t FEEL it. I think some moments of stone, concrete reality will anchor the song and give the listener some emotional touch-points.
Hope that helps! Please take a moment to leave a comment on another writer’s song. It doesn’t have to be super-detailed or anything. Just a thought or two about the song. (Also, the best way to GET feedback is to GIVE feedback.) Thanks!

Written my Paul deMarco and David A. Pritchett
We all go through trials and tribulations
When we least expect it here they come
Times that try our soul’s determination
We all need courage and then it’s done
[Chorus]
Living through trials and tribulations
Never giving in to doubt and fear
Holding you through trials and tribulations
Open up your heart ‘cause love is here
And you walk away, head held high in pure elation
From those trials and tribulations
Only with love can we push on past the pain
Passing through the dark into the light
Old beliefs trap us like a fly on a spider’s chain
The chain pulls tighter the harder we fight
[Repeat Chorus]
[Bridge]
Running from a mind believing illusions are real
Only our heart can tell truth from lies
Giving up is how we win on this battlefield
When we let love guide us, the fear dies…
[Repeat Chorus]
