HI Brent,
Thanks for your feedback.Since i have been on your site I have noticed the subtle difference between the use of the English language in the UK and America
I think that over in America you stick to the `real` word, especially in Country music and over here we tend to be a bit obscure.
The line `you hadn`t a clue` is actually a compliment, saying that an innocent mind is refreshing in today’s world.
The message also says ...stay as you are, it`s beautiful, and keep the cynicism away.
Hope this makes my words a little better to understand.

YOU LOOK JUST THE SAME, AS THE FIRST DAY I MET YOU
LIFE MAY, BE A GAME, BUT YOU HADN`T A CLUE
BUT YOUR INNOCENT EYES
SHOWED NO SURPRISE
WHEN YOU LOOKED AT ME THAT DAY
AND NOW I`M LOOKING BACK THERE`S JUST
ONE THING I`D LIKE TO SAY TO YOU
DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE BABY, DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE, HONEY
STAY THERE JUST FOR ME, IN YOUR TRANQUILITY
MUSIC BREAK
YOU LOOK JUST THE SAME, AS THE FIRST DAY I MET YOU
NO GLORY OR FAME, AND NO NEED FOR A CLUE
AND YOUR INNOCENT EYES
SHOW NO SURPRISE
WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME TODAY
AND NOW I`M LOOKING BACK THERE`S JUST
ONE THING I`D LIKE TO SAY TO YOU
DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE BABY, DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE HONEY
STAY THERE JUST FOR ME, IN YOUR OWN TRANQUILITY SO, KEEP THOSE INNOCENT EYES THAT CAPTURVISE ME
EVERYTIME I LOOK AT YOU
YOUR TENDERNESS WILL ALWAYS SHINE
IN EVERYTHING YOU DO………I`M TELLING YOU
DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE BABY, DON`T YOU EVER CHANGE HONEY
STAY THERE JUST FOR ME, IN YOU TRANQUILITY X3 (FADE OUT ?)

Hi, Barry! Thanks for sharing this song with us. It’s a pretty melody- especially the melody on the title- it really hooks it.
However, the 2nd line seems a little insulting to her. She didn’t have a clue? How would it feel if someone said that to you? And you bring it up again on the 2nd verse. I think that’d be a turn-off for the female listener. I think you’re just talking about her innocence, but I’d look for a less misunderstandable way to say it than “you’re clueless.”
Hope that helps! Please take a moment to leave a comment on another writer’s song. It doesn’t have to be super-detailed or anything. Just a thought or two about the song. (Also, the best way to GET feedback is to GIVE feedback.) Thanks!
