Inspired by the song cover that I saw one many years ago...a little country with a lot of jazz. This was released on my 1996 Album "What The World Doesn't Know". Looking for a pitch home for this song...

Boulevard of Broken Dreams
I'm walking down the boulevard, boulevard of broken dreams
And a black rain falls on a lonely street sounding out quiet scream
I kick an empty bottle with my tired wet shoes
Why was I born when I was only born to lose
I never trusted anyone existing on my own
Till you showed me a ray of love, night was all I'd ever known
I took a chance on happiness, how could I have thought
That I deserved more than this nothing that I've got
Now I'm walking down the boulevard, boulevard of broken dreams
And I tip my hat to the lost soul, the lost soul of James Dean
Because just like me he's trapped here searching for release
Down the alley he whispers, "son death won't bring you peace"
Well now I kick an empty bottle with my tired wet shoes
Why was I born if I was only born to lose hey hey hey

Hey, Tony! Thanks for sharing with us. You haven’t posted the lyrics yet, so I’m not able to really dive in. I don’t listen to much jazz, so the feel is fun and fresh for me. Some good imagery in the 1st verse- kicking the bottle with a tired wet shoe. That’s great.
But I’d watch for cliches like “born to lose.”
Overall, it’s cool. Nice work!
Hope that helps! Please take a moment to leave a comment on another writer’s song. It doesn’t have to be super-detailed or anything. Just a thought or two about the song. (Also, the best way to GET feedback is to GIVE feedback.) Thanks!
