This is fabulous.
I felt the torture in his soul as soon as I got to the hook in the first verse, but the melody had me from the very beginning.
Very “gone off to war” vibe to the music I felt.
You had me at “Maybe”

Although I’d like a few more specifics and images in the verses, I do like the general direction of the song and what you’re talking about. I also wonder if you can get to the chorus after just one verse. Not sure. You might play around with that and see how it feels. In general, the faster you can get to your chorus, they more commercial it’s gonna be. But see what you think.
