Hey, Nick!  Thanks for sharing your song with us!  I like how you got into he hook in the 1st verse.  Although I’d like a few more specifics and images in the verses, I do like the general direction of the song and what you’re talking about.  I also wonder if you can get to the chorus after just one verse.  Not sure.  You might play around with that and see how it feels.  In general, the faster you can get to your chorus, they more commercial it’s gonna be.  But see what you think.

I hope that helps.  There’s a lot of good stuff here.  I like the vibe and the vocals.  Please pay it forward by leaving a comment on another writer’s song.  Thanks!

OMG Nick!!
This is fabulous.
I felt the torture in his soul as soon as I got to the hook in the first verse, but the melody had me from the very beginning.
Very “gone off to war” vibe to the music I felt.
You had me at “Maybe” grin
Well done sir.
Thanks for sharing it.
Cheers

Alone In This Bed

Written by Nick Clyburn

Maybe we started a little too fast
Starring at these old pictures looking into the past
And maybe we were a little over our heads
Well that's what i think about alone in this bed

We use to fight everyday and make love every night
I did some things wrong and I did some things right
Is there something that I did or maybe something I said?
Well that's what I think about alone in this bed

Because I'm on the highway going nowhere
Where everything is my way and I hate it I swear
Can't close my eyes until the misery's fed
Until it eats me alive all alone in my bed

I guess the heart heals if you just give it time
Between memories and whisky I think I'm losing my mind
Is there something that I did or maybe something I said?
I just drown here in silence all alone in my bed

Well I'm on the highway going nowhere
Where everything is my way and I hate it I swear
Can't close my eyes until the misery's fed
Until it eats me alive all alone in my bed
