About This Song

Night out drinking Tequila. Female Vocalist/Duet. Last Night. Humour. Mid/Quick Tempo.

Feedback Requested

Any feedback on the edit of this song would be greatly appreciated. The lyrics changed from the original version although it won't look like it if you go back and have a look as I saved the new lyrics on to the old song page. Whoops!! Does it grab you? Do you feel the fun that would have been had? How do you see the two participants look on their faces?

Sonya, got to say I’m not a fan of the duet and liked the idea in the original version better.  I believe keeping the song in a female perspective gives it a better chance of success.

In the bridge, “bring you all undone” is not natural speech.  Maybe something like:
Tequila nights are lots of fun
But when you hit the worm
You’re night should be done

Keep writing!

Hi there Phillip

Thanks again for your feedback.

I appreciate your perspective on the lyrics as I always envisaged it as a “duet”. Male first verse and female second verse.

I like that you could actually sing it from the females perspective in it’s entirety.

I guess it could be sung either way,  depending on the artist/producer/A&R’s choice.

I did amend the lyrics on the bridge though - so thank you for that input also. It felt natural to me, but if it doesn’t to the listener, then it’s of no advantage to keep it that way.

Cheers again for your assistance.

Tequila Nights
By Sonya Dauth
July 27th, 2017 (Edited 7th August)

VERSE 1
I’m still looking for my keys boys
Thousand brain cells all destroyed
How'd I even get back home
Where'd I get this here gnome
Why’s my jeans covered in sand and
Who’s phone number’s on my hand
Can't think straight or quite see clear
Think I shoulda stuck to beer

CHORUS
Tequila Nights are the best
To get your worries off your chest
Goes down quick but she's got a sting
Won’t remember a dang thang
When your party’s hit full throttle
Best stay away from the drink
With the worm in the bottle

VERSE 2
Woke up needin Tylenol
Sun's too bright and birds too loud
Went out dancin for the night
Met this guy who seemed just right
Threw back a few Tequila shots
That’s ‘bout where my memory stops
One thing I don’t quite understand
Did he wrestle a gnome in the sand

CHORUS
(Repeat)

BRIDGE
Tequila Nights are lots of fun
But when you hit that toxic worm
Ya best call that night done

CHORUS
(Repeat)
