The one thing i do not like about this site is people listen but they do not comment.

Some would say this song is dated but not me i really enjoyed it.

Keith, this is a nice song.  Not sure there’s an audience for it outside the “low country”, but bet if you play it locally, it gets a great response.  Definitely got that laid back feel to it.  Nothing really jumps out at me lyric or music wise.  You may want to try for a movie or ad placement with it.

Corey, I’ve always thought the same thing.  Frettie could be a wonderful resource for songwriters, but for some reason, the participation level hasn’t grown much.

Holy cow Keith… super song once again. I just had to click on this and listen after reviewing the two previous songs here today. This reminds me back when I used to live in Savannah and the low country boil dishes. You again just aced it. And a great play on words with the “low country high”. This is what true songwriting is all about. This is refreshing to hear a real gem of a song with words that mean something good and wholesome. If I was in Fargo, North Dakota, Milwaukee, Atlanta, or Youngstown, Ohio, I would be planning my next vacation to the Carolinas.

You are a wonderful writer Keith.

PS: Where were the magnolias? LOL

Low Country High

Written by Keith Vincent

Blood moon is risin'
Out on the horizon
sun's sinkin low
in the carolina sky
give me Blenhem and Bulleit
She Crab soup and grits
i'm on a low country high

There's a soft coastal breeze
blowin in from the east
the salt air is heavy tonight
katydids in the trees
singin sweet melodies
got me on a low country high

Chorus:
There's nothing finer
Than South Carolina
on a September evenin
when the world feels so right
live oaks and shrimp boats
Gumbo on a woodstove
I’m on a low country high

Instrumental break:

on the porch swing with my woman
a romantic moment
she makes me feel so alive
with her in my arms
her soft southern charm
got me on a low country high

Chorus:
There's nothing finer
Than my sweet Carolina
on a September evening
when the world feels so right
kisses and small talk
a sandy beach and a long walk
got me on a low country high

Chorus:
There's nothing finer
Than South Carolina
on a September evening
when the world feels so right
live oaks and shrimp boats
gumbo on a woodstove
I’m on a low country high
I’m on a low country high
