Hey, Marvin!  Okay, the title has me interested right off the bat.  Good start!  Good pictures.  One thing- the distance between “Rain falls in” and “life and then” and “love heals pain” is unnatural.  Meaning, it makes it feel like three separate thoughts instead of one big one.  Could lose the listener.

Also, I get the Christ reference in the 3rd verse, but I’d kinda like for it to be more obvious for the causal listener.  They could get… lost (pun intended).

Other than that, it’s a nice 3 act play.  Kinda old school, but well done.  Thanks for sharing it!

Please pay it forward by leaving a comment or review on another writer’s song.  Thanks!

Thanks Brent! I appreciate the feedback. There is a reason for the bridge and third verse being as they are, but if I re-demo the song I will take your suggestions into consideration. Thanks again!

Don’t Feel the Rain

Written by Marvin Adcock

She’s standin’ in the rain, but she don’t care
Because her heart’s another place
She’s watchin’ as her son gets on that bus
She won’t leave till she knows he’s safe

Unless you live to feel it, words just won’t explain
Unselfish love, she don’t feel the rain

He’s standin’ on a corner and it’s pourin’
His sign held high for all to see
It says I’m lookin’ for a job cause the one I lost
Wasn’t much but fed my family

Unless you live to feel it, words just won’t explain
Unselfish love, he don’t feel the rain

Rain falls in
Life and then
Love heals pain
And shields the rain

He takes His final breath and bows His head
His work on earth is finally done
With the last beat of his heart the sky grows dark
Another mother holds her son

Unless you live to feel it, words just won’t explain
Unselfish love, they don’t feel the rain

Once you live to feel it, life won’t be the same
With unselfish love, you don’t feel the rain

You don’t feel the rain
