Blame It On the 60’s

Written by Marvin Adcock

I was raised in the heart of America
A boy with dreams where nothin’ ever seems to change
And bein’ cool is somethin’ that I never was
But once I learned to play these strings I never was the same

Blame it on the 60’s
When John and Paul were kings
What started out in the 50’s
Made us feel we could do anything
It filled our soul with rock and roll
And our head with dreams

Every year every tour from every dressing room
I can hear the crowd while waitin’ for the show to start
In the arena screamin’ for them old familiar tunes
It don’t matter what we play cause they know every song by heart

Blame it on the 60’s
When John and Paul were kings
What started out in the 50’s
Made us feel we could do anything
It filled our soul with rock and roll
And our head with dreams

I’m a born country boy but my taste ain’t changed
I still like my Haggard mixed with Jagger and Jones
And lookin’ back I know exactly where to place the blame
For my love for this music planted in my soul

Blame it on the 60’s
When John and Paul were kings
What started out in the 50’s
Made us feel we could do anything
It filled our soul with rock and roll
And our head with dreams

There are places I’ll remember.....
