Hi Bob…

Lively, upbeat and light fare of a song. I really like the melody. You could have gone several ways with this production and put in a few steel drums and you would of had a Jimmy Buffett feel. Kenny Chesney possibly would like this one as he is the country Buffett guy.

I would definitely turn the vocals up over the soundtrack. The lead guitar is dominate and should not be. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get the vocals up and over everything else. Imagine an artist listening to this and having difficulty in hearing the singer and words? And the first line audio level should have been pumped up in volume as the singer was in a lower register and lacked power to really pop it and opening line is very important. Patsy Cline hated “I Fall To Pieces” when singing it as she couldn’t pop the opening chorus line as it was in a lower register and the song started with the chorus.

But those are just simple tech issues and the song is a good one. Really enjoyed it.

SHE’S HARD TO READ

Written by Bob Runk

She says she won’t, but you know she will
Her smile is warm, but you can feel the chill
She knows the answer, but refuses to say
First she’s here, and then she’s gone away

She acts so big, when she’s feeling small
She makes a pretty penny, but she spends it all
She claims she’s lost nearly all recollection
Of all the memories that I recall

SHE’S HARD TO READ, OH YES INDEED
IT’S HARD TO SAY EXACTLY WHAT SHE’S GONNA DO
SHE’S SUCH A CONTRADICTION. SOMETIMES I THINK SHE’S MOSTLY FICTION
SO CAN YOU TELL ME PLEASE…EXACTLY WHY I LOVE HER SO?

If it were … up to me, I’d sail the … seven seas
And I’d try to find… find another smile
But I must admit, there’s no way of my controlling it
I’m so addicted; I’m so addicted to her style

SHE’S HARD TO READ, OH YES INDEED
IT’S HARD TO SAY EXACTLY WHAT SHE’S GONNA DO
SHE’S SUCH A CONTRADICTION. SOMETIMES I THINK SHE’S MOSTLY FICTION
SO CAN YOU TELL ME PLEASE…EXACTLY WHY I LOVE HER SO?
