Hi Jayne: I will be the first to comment today it appears.

First of all… you have a hit song here. The rhythm, the rhyming scheme, the story line, and a beautiful melody captured by a great overall production. And the hook line “backwards” is beautifully supported with the lyrics as a whole.

And this is finally a song that does not just sound like all the other indistinguishable songs on today’s radio… This could be country or pop or even a soulful rock artist could do it with the right production. Country music should be fighting over who gets this one first.

Specific to your production: Great vocalist! Super job and a nicely reserved production that was rhythmic and allowed the vocals to be heard clearly and just pop out at the listener. Note: Don’t shoot your producer. He/she is a keeper.

You have a winner… at least if I owned the world. <g>

HI Jayne,
Lovely song. The vocalist and the mood of the song reminds me of David Gates from Bread. Completely agree with Robert.

Thank you Barry!  The demo singer is young… 24 at most. He has a really unique sound that is very pop but I use him for some country demos if I feel they can cross over.  His name is Clayton Jones.  He’s an artist.  I just love him.  I was a Bread fan way back… beautiful writing on those old classics.

Agree with everyone here. Fantastic song. Love the concept/story and the way you’ve crafted it. Love the way this guy sings too. However, I’m wondering if the song would have been ever stronger with another title. To me, “Fall Backwards” is just a little bit too vague to sum up the story – “let’s go back to the love we once had – in an engaging way. I would have preferred a title that was closer to something you would say to someone in real life.

All the best,
Martin
