About This Song

I wrote this song with Matt Cline and Craig Campbell. That's Craig singing on the demo.

love this, silent treatment’s a killer. It takes a strong man to want to talk through a fight. something a woman wants to hear. love the “instrumental break,” and then chorus.

Pure Country, I love it!  Lord knows I’ve had a fight or two like this. The chorus is awesome along with the turn a round on the second verse.

Great song!  Love the set up to the hook… “we’re on the same side” so “let’s fight”.  Every couple alive can relate to this song.

If we hit our knees and stand up to him…love that line! And I agree…awesome hook.

‘Let’s Fight’ , written nice n tight!-Lol! Lyrics great as usual. I like the chord progression on this one as well.

I like the idea, to transform “let’s fight (each other)” from airing your grievances and clearing the air to “let’s stand together against the evil or the troubles that confront us” instead of fighting each other. I didn’t get that on first listen, though, and I wonder if you could make that stronger. Judging from some of the comments, I suspect it might be a bit too subtle. I’m also wondering if the musical line on the words “Let’s fight” in the chorus should have more punch to them (pun intended) instead of soaring gently up. Great marriage song!

I know the way you breathe
So I can tell you’re not asleep right now
There ain’t no sense in this
You’ve closed your heart like a fist and shut me out
If we’re gonna get past what we’re going through
There’s just one thing to do

CHORUS:
Let’s fight
Say what we need to say
Tonight
I refuse to walk away
We can’t keep going on
Like nothing’s wrong
We’re on the same side
Baby, let’s fight

Girl, you and me
We’re not each other’s enemy, so take my hand
The devil wants our hearts
And he’ll tear us apart if he can
He’s strong, but he can’t win
If we hit our knees and stand up to him

CHORUS: [REPEAT TWICE]

If we don’t give up
When the going gets tough
Our love will survive
Baby, let’s fight
Let’s fight
