He began his musical training at age 5 on the clarinet. His formal musical training was at the Berklee School of Music, Boston Massachusetts, and at The New School for Social Research, New York, NY majoring in composition. He was senior executive officer for Harmony Records, a independent record label and became a staff songwriter for Screen Gems, Colgems, EMI Music.
